In this article, we will be going over the most common troubleshooting steps a site owner can follow in case experiencing an issue or when updates are not displaying on the front-end right away.
Most of these errors can be solved by following these troubleshooting steps:
1) Refresh The Live Website
To make sure the website is not serving a cached version, utilize the built-in Refresh Live Website tool that every Brilliant Directories site offer. Refreshing the cache of the website makes sure that recent changes that have been made to widgets, forms, and other elements of the website through the Admin Area are reflected in the website's cache.
Important Note: We highly recommend refreshing the live website after following any of the troubleshooting steps specified down below.
2) Clear Browser Cache
The browsers may not realize the changes made on the website right away and this might cause them to display an older version of the website.
In these instances, clearing the cache of the browser will ensure users that they are seeing the latest version of the website.

3) Disable Browser Plugins
In instances where the issue can be experienced on one browser but not on others, the issue might be caused by the browser extensions that may be active. One of the most common extensions that are known to cause issues on Brilliant Directories sites would be Grammarly.
To learn how to disable the browser plugins, please refer to the 3rd party article down below:

4) Disable All Custom Widgets
It is often that the issue being reported may be caused by a default widget that is customized or a brand new widget created by a site owner.
To make sure if a custom widget(s) is causing the issue or not, please follow the steps down below to learn how to disable them:
How To Disable/Enable A Widget
The above documentation shows how to disable/enable a widget one by one which can be helpful in the instances where there are not many custom widgets. If there are pages of custom widgets, the best approach would be taking bulk action on them:

5) Remove Any Code From Custom CSS / HEAD Section Temporarily
The Custom CSS / HEAD section is part of the design settings where custom CSS, HEAD and Footer code can be added to the website.
There may be instances where the issue is caused due the to code added in this area. To troubleshoot this, temporarily remove all the code added to each of these sections and save the changes. Please make sure to save the code added to a text editor before deleting them.
6) Backup and Delete .htaccess File
A bad .htaccess file may cause server issues on websites. To troubleshoot this, access to the .htaccess file under Developer Hub and temporarily delete all the code added:
After deleting the code, click on the Restore Default and Save Changes.
