How To Connect Your Domain
To publish your site on your live domain, follow this 2 step process
Step 1 - Point Domain

Point your domain to us through your domain registrar (Godaddy, NameCheap, etc) by using either the Nameserver Method or A Record Method. Make sure you have completed this step before moving on to STEP 2 described in this article.
Important Note
Make sure to do the step above to complete the process of publishing your website on your live domain.
Step 2 - Connect Domain

Update the domain of the site in the Domain Manager (steps shown below).

This area of the Admin allows you to connect the domain of the website.
To connect your domain through the Settings » Domain Manager:
This is the area of the admin where the domain of the website is added. Once ready to publish the website on a live domain, first point the domain to Brilliant Directories, by following the steps here:

If adding a primary domain add "www." even if this is not going to be the final version of the domain. If using a subdomain do not add "www.".
To connect a domain, navigate to Settings >> Domain Manager and click on Connect My Domain:
Click on "Get Started":
Select "Connect Custom Domain" if the purpose is to connect a live domain or subdomain or "Use directoryup.com URL" if a staging domain should be connected:
Connecting a Live Domain
If the Connect Custom Domain option is selected:
There will be two methods presented:
- Nameserver Method - This is the recommended method to update the website domain.
- A Record Method - This method is popular when using a sub-domain. Connect the domain by pointing the site using an IP Address.
Select the option that is used to connect the live domain:
Enter the new domain and click on "Click to Validate Connection":
Once the connection is established, click "Save & Finalize Domain Changes":
Connecting a Staging Domain (directoryup.com)
If the Use directorup.com URL option is selected:
The system will prompt the user to specify the subdomain for the new staging domain. Note that this method only allows editing the portion before .directoryup.com—the main domain remains unchanged. Once all changes are finalized, click "Click to Review Changes" to proceed.
Website SSL
If the website does have the SSL add-on or the VIP Add-Ons subscription, the system will prompt the user to install SSL on the website, click Yes to install SSL:
Domain Details
If it is a live domain that is connected, additional domain details will be displayed in this section:
- Domain Registrar
- Domain Expiry Date
- Connection Method
- Nameservers
Domain Propagation
When changing the domain of a website, in rare cases it can take up to 48 hours for the new domain to work. See if the website is online here:
