There are four methods through which a member's password can be changed or reset on a Brilliant Directories site:
- Via the Admin Dashboard — the administrator sets a new password directly on the member record.
- Via the Member Dashboard — the member changes their own password from their front-end account area.
- Via the Password Retrieval Link — the member requests a reset email from the
/login/retrievalpage.
Method 1 — Via the Admin Dashboard
The administrator can manually set a new password for any member from within the Search Members section of the admin dashboard.
To change a member's password via the admin dashboard:
- Navigate to My Members » Search Members.
- Locate the target member in the results table.
- Click the Actions dropdown for that member's record.
- Select Change Password from the dropdown options.
- The Change Password module will appear.
- Enter the new password in the module.
- Save the change.

Method 2 — Via the Member Dashboard
Members can change their own password independently from within their front-end member dashboard. No administrator action is required for this method.
To change a password via the member dashboard:
- The member logs in to the site and accesses their member dashboard.
- The member navigates to the password change area within the dashboard.
- The member enters and saves a new password.

Method 3 — Via the Password Retrieval Page
Every Brilliant Directories website includes a default password retrieval page accessible at /login/retrieval. Members can use this page to request a password reset email if their current password has been forgotten.
To reset a password via the retrieval page:
- The member navigates to the site's
/login/retrievalpage. - The member enters their registered login email address in the field provided.
- The member clicks "Get My Password".
- The system sends a password reset email to that address.
- The member opens the email and clicks the reset link.
- The reset link redirects the member to a page where a new password can be set.

The /login/retrieval Page in the Web Page Builder
