The website comes with two article post types.

  1. Blog Article
  2. Community/Member Article

These are similar post types but with a few differences, specifically for the Blog post type.

Blog Article

How to Add a Blog Post

The default Permalink URL is: /blog

This post type is intended for curated articles created only by the Site Administrator or designated Blog Contributors, not by regular members of the directory.

This is because the Blog Articles have the "Featured on Homepage?" option: Featured Blog Article Slider

This add-on allows the website admin to select and manage which Blog articles are featured on the homepage slider, which can display up to five posts.

If this setting is enabled for all members and profiles, it becomes difficult to control which posts are displayed.

Custom SEO Data

There are also additional Custom SEO Data fields available.

These fields are only available to the admin for two reasons:

  1. This ensures each post can have SEO data tailored to the individual post instead of being tied to the overall post type. How To Edit The SEO Settings Of Dynamic (Search Results) Pages

  2. This prevents harmful or false data from being entered, which could damage the website’s SEO and result in lower search engine rankings.

Adding Images to Blog Articles

When adding images to blog articles, this post type uses the Media Manager to store uploads. Both the cover image and any files added through the Froala Editor are saved in a designated folder, keeping everything organized on the admin side.

My Content » Media Manager

Because the Media Manager is the central storage tool for site images, this post type is meant for admin use only. Allowing all users to upload here could lead to unnecessary or low-quality files, so keeping it limited to admins ensures the Media Manager stays clean and reliable.

Community/Member Article

How to Post an Article

The default Permalink URL is: /articles

This post type is intended for members use only.

This post type does not include the ‘Featured on Homepage’ option or Custom SEO fields.
