Members can stream their Facebook accounts in the sidebar of their accounts. The end product is similar to this:
With this functionality, the Facebook Feed streams all of the latest posts and updates from a specific Facebook account. Only Facebook Company Pages or Fan Pages will stream content. Facebook does not allow personal Facebook pages from being streamed. There is nothing that Brilliant Directories can do to change this limitation imposed by Facebook.
IMPORTANT: The tool only works with public Facebook company pages. If a member uses their personal Facebook account link, then the feed will show an error or a blank widget.
How Can I Add The Facebook Feed For The Member Profile Pages?
Please follow these instructions:
- Go to the Toolbox » Sidebar Manager » Member Profile Page sidebar:
- Search for "Bootstrap Theme - Module - Member Facebook Feed" in the Member Profile Page sidebar -
Drag the "Bootstrap Theme - Module - Member Facebook Feed" widget into the display position on the Member Profile Page sidebar: - Click on "Save Changes"
IMPORTANT: The tool only works with public Facebook company pages. If a member uses their personal Facebook account link, then the feed will show an error or a blank widget, like this one:
These Facebook accounts won't work for the Facebook Feed:
- If it's a personal Facebook profile (not a company page).
- If it's a company page, but not public (users must be logged into FB to see the timeline)
- If it's an invalid Facebook Link
- If the company Facebook page is still not published
How to tell if a Facebook account is a personal profile or a page?
Facebook pages must be public for the feed to work. When not logged in to Facebook the information will be still accessible. For example, our Facebook page is a public page: https://www.facebook.com/BrilliantDirectories .
On the other hand, Facebook profiles or private pages are not available unless logged in to the Facebook account, so it will always prompt to log in:
If a Facebook link asks for login credentials to continue, that link won't work for the Facebook Feed.
